ACT is an innovative process for the extraction of volatiles molecules from cork.

ACT, or TCA read backward, intends to show from its name the aim of the process itself: removing the wrong idea that cork means "cork taint". ACT means performing an action, and “action” has always been a keyword for the Colombin group.

ACT is in fact the acronym of three physical processes:

A as Absorption, so that cork can retain the exact quantity of the vector needed for the process

C as Conditioning, to homogenously distribute in all the cork cells the vector molecules necessary for the steam current distillation

T as Thermal Energy, allowing the vector molecules to vibrate and move through the cork cells, taking away with them all the volatile compounds of cork.

As an industrial process applied to an ecologically sustainable product, ACT has a powerful symbolic meaning, as it forges a new successful alliance between technology and environment, man and nature.
